The quality from a Police or personal protection dog

Schutzhund came out from Germany in the 1800's in this time we call
the policeman Schutzmann. And his K-9 you called it Schutzhund.
In this time the dogs were very aggressive; and only loyal and
bounded to his handler. At the beginning of 1900's Rittmeister
(Cavalry Captain) Max von Stephanitz founded the German
Organization for German Shepherds
(Verein fuer Deutsche Schaeferhunde)
Then the activities from Policeman and their K-9's turns to sport
with rules and regulations. After many years the dogs' breeding
changed with no aggression but very high play drive
Many people thinks a Schutzhund dog protects you. But that's is
wrong, a Schutzhund title, is a title which the dog has to pass
certain rules in a sports man's competition.
Schutzhund is a sport that a dog is trained to be very good socialize.
Can't show any aggression against humans or animals.
Schutzhund is tracking, obedience, and protection.
Tracking, the dog has to be very calm, focus and concentrated. He
has to follow a truck from a human with a very deep nose, very
concentrated and calm; he has to find articles who belongs to this
truck and identify them. with-out any help.
Obedience, the dog goes train in a program where he has to walk,
and stay with his handler on and off leash. He has to make sits,
down, and stay off leash and the handler moves out of distance. The
dog has to stay still until the handler calls him.
Very important exercise, is the dog has to red reef a dumb-bell over
two different hurdles. Another exercise is the handler sends the
dog away over a distance of 50 to 80 yards, and the dog has to lay
down of his command.
The dog has to make a long down without the handler; at the same
time when the other dogs with his handler makes his obedience at
the same field.
Protection, is the main thing for Schutzhund, you'll see the whole
quality from the dogs, strong nerves, confidence, courage and he is
able to take pressure. These criteria separate the Schuntzhund dogs
from the pets. The dogs who have these qualities have the
foundation to be a police dogs, personal protection, narcotics and
explosive dogs.
In the protection the dogs have to search the area for the bad guy;
when he find him, has to make hold and bark until the handler comes
and called him out. When the bad guy tries to escape the k-9 has to
stop the escaping by bitting the Schuntzhund sleeve from the bag
guy. He has to let it go by his handler's command
When the bad guy attacks the k-9 or his handler, he has to defend
the attack. He also has to make a courage test over distance of 50
to 100 yards. He has to attack the bad guy at his fullest speed to
show how much courage he has; at the same time the decoy attacks
the dog with a lot of physical and mentally pressure to really proves
the dog courage. All these exercise is a very good foundation for
police and personal protection dog for a Schutzhund it's a game he
fights for his sleeve all in play drive, he's train to bite in the sleeve
not on the decoy's body when he bites in the body he's disqualify. A
police dog and a personal protection dog you have to trained them to
be serious bite in the body and show aggression. A police dog and a
personal protection dog needs the street bite and the real situation.
